Those "Farewells" Are Never Easy..
It's been an emotional day today. We had our last visit with our awesome, long-time doctor today. He's retiring at the end of the year - and our hearts and our love go with him. His kindness and generosity as well as his fantastic medical knowledge and expertise will be sorely missed. He's been there for us for many many years.
Jo had some questions on some of her medications that we both needed advice on, so we had set up an appointment for today. He answered them, and as he always has, gave us some excellent advice for the future. We will be staying with the same medical group - the remaining doctor, and nurse practitioners came with his highest recommendations, so at least for now, that's where we'll stay.
We also had a wonderful visit, with hugs and handshakes all around. And maybe, just possibly behind our masks, a few tears.
When we went to the front desk to pay as we always have, the receptionist went back to find out about the charges. About 30 seconds later she came back. "He said 'Merry Christmas' and stay safe! We'll stay in touch.'" Just the kind of guy he is.
Happy Retirement, Dr. Bollier. May your retirement be as awesome as you have always been to us! And, yes.. If we ever get to Colorado again, we'll definitely look you up! Bless you sir - our friend!
May ALL in the Medical and First Responder realms have a Blessed Holiday and stay safe! Thank you for all you do!
