Welcome To September

Well, here it is already. The days of Autumn have arrived, unpacked their bags, and are settling in.

In many ways I welcome them. In a few, I don't. The days of 100-degree +  heat indexes are on the way out. But all too soon the days of 20-degree - days will arrive. Those I could do without.

Now, it's time to get off my butt, and get some badly needed exterior things taken care of with this house. I'll be posting pics of all the fun stuff involved.

We got awakened around 02:30 this morning by some mental midget driving by with his "BOOM BOOM BOOM" crap literally vibrating our windows. Seriously folks.... What the F...?? I called the City of Independence a few minutes ago to ask what can be done about that. I've called the Police a time or 2 for an idiot up the street a block or so for the same nonsense. I've never seen them show up. The Codes Administration Officer I talked to said they could send a letter to an address, but that was about it.

My tax dollars at work.

I know a lot of departments, Police, and a gazillion other things have been "de-funded" by that brainless dickhead in D.C. that we all know and don't love. But what I heard on the phone earlier just tells me that the City Ordinances here are not worth the paper they're printed on.

Anyway....

We were awakened again around 05:00AM by a LOUD "BLAM!" sound. We wondered of someone just got shot, but no sirens so we fell back asleep.

Not hearing any alarms or anything, we both slept soundly until around  10:30-ish. And after we woke up, quickly noticed we had no power! There was an Independence P&L truck out front. We talked with the technician a while, as he was waiting for the City to send someone out to cut him a path through the unkempt jungle behind our house. He couldn't even get to the power pole back there. He said it was probably a squirrel or something getting itself lit up chewing on the power lines.

The power came back on shortly after, thankfully. There was a crew back there doing some cutting for a couple hours. I think I'm going to do some cutting of my own back there. I'll have some pics.

I'm (once again) going to try to keep this Blog updated on a more regular basis. Things have been so crazy busy lately, I've been wondering why the hell I retired!

More coming soon....
