Blog 07-17-2024:

Presently, I am on a little “vacation” from story creation, posting images (mostly) and a lot of other stuff I do pretty much every day. There are a number of reasons I’m taking some time off, but mostly I have some work I need to do - no, let's make that LOTS of work to do - things I’ve been putting off for months or years. It’s time. It’s past time.

For over a year, my main computer desk has been almost in the middle of the room. I built a nice shelf to go over the monitors, and give me a place for external drives, and a place to store paperwork other than the corner of my desk where it gets knocked to the floor.

The shelf has a back panel using peg-board, so I’ve been able to get all the cables and such off the floor and (somewhat) organized. With Jo’s help, we managed to get it moved back to its normal position closer to the wall. The room seems bigger now!

This is looking at the north-east corner with one of my older systems. It still works fine (with an older version of Photoshop) with my Cintique (on the left), a second monitor, and scanner. The main system is on the right. The system on the left is the one I need to put a bigger C: drive SSD into – and I have a 1 TB SSD for it. I just need to get around to installing it and reloading Windows.

This is looking north-west, with my little ‘fridge, and another older system that still works beautifully with Poser Pro 2014. Above it is my security camera recorder, and monitor.

Looking south-east with the main system (Poser 12), my older shelf back on the wall, and a couple printers on the right. All those boxes on the shelf contain hard drives for backups of all kinds of stuff. There is a USB hard drive dock on a shelf on the left side of the desk – barely visible below the mouse.

And….. Everyone cool has one of these. Where’s yours?

Now this room seems a little bigger!

I am going to be doing some upgrading / updating of my on-line stuff as well. That will begin with my badly neglected website: Rodslair.com.

I also am going to be working on adding a lot of stuff to my Pixels / Fine Art America: https://rod-shelley.pixels.com/ and Redbubble: https://www.redbubble.com/people/RodShelley/shop stores.

I will also be adding to my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/RodS and Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/rods0078 sites. And something else I’ve been thinking about…. A few years ago, I was doing a series of videos called “Behind The Scenes..” that I was posting to You Tube. I’m thinking very seriously about reviving that project – and maybe, very maybe… Trying a livestream or two on Twitch. More on that later.

As you can see, I have a LOT of work to do! So wish me luck that I can actually get through all this – all while working on this house, and trying to find another place to live.

At our checkups yesterday, our Family Nurse Practitioner mentioned several times about Jo and me being in amazingly good health for a couple 70+ old farts!
